Primos Deer Bleat and Bawl caller first test
« on: September 28, 2011, 07:45:48 AM »
I posted about this caller in the bear thread, but since it is for deer I figured Id share the info.

This is the Caller I picked up at the local pawn shop new for 8 bucks.
https://shop.primos.com/pc-530-7-deer-bleat-bawl.aspx

Now both last night, and this morning, I studied youtube videos of abandoned fawns, fawn stuck in pools, etc to get the sounds in my head that I needed to make.

I then headed out into the backyard (backed by the forest) and started practicing my calls before I got out in the woods, and "didnt have it right yet"

The results were immediate, and profound. Although I never got a deer to come out into the 1/4 acre back yard of mine, they were charging in through the brush and trees sounding like running horses. There approach was not skittish, nor quiet. They were crashing in from three different sides all at once. It was pretty cool.

This morning my wife suggested I go back outside and do it again to see if we could coax a deer out in the open at 7am.
Again same response, at least three different deer came crashing in, but stopped just short of the edge of the back yard.

Then suddenly I hear from behind me "will someone take care of that baby!"

My 78 year old neighbor came over thinking there was a baby in the house crying. After I explained, she got a big grin on her face to find out there were deer in the woods behind her house. And asked me to continue.

Im not sure if the primos company expected it to work so well I could call in my neighbors with it too. LOL

Anyway, I figured Id offer a product review of it. considering the results I got.
