High Hunt Bear
« on: September 25, 2011, 11:36:39 AM »
Dropped this one in the wilderness while on the high hunt.  Not huge but as big as I was wanting to pack out.

Perfect. Always fun packing meat out on a hunt. Chest shot? Congrats!

Good job, nice color. I agree, the smaller ones are easier to pack.  :chuckle: They eat good also.

Thanks guys.  I was thrilled, hate having an empty tag at the end of the season.  @saylean, yes it was a chest shot, couldn't wait any longer and that was the 1st decent shot she gave me...in the front and out the right side about 1/2 way down.

Congratulations!  I got skunked on my high hunt this year.  Pics like yours keep me coming back to do the high hunts.

Thanks...any bigger and I would have had to make 2 trips.  @ b.roberts, I have yet to shoot a deer on the high hunt but have filled my bear tag the last two years which is just as exciting in my book.  @ Co, packed out the three good quarters (front right was messed up from the exit) and the back straps, and of course the hide and head.  Makes my breakfast sausage for the year.
