I drew a bull tag for this unit having trouble finding bulls. never hunted this area before. Any help would be great

More scouting. I've never been there, never put in for tags there either though. It's tough when you draw a tag in a unit you've never hunted. Good luck.

Lots of bulls everywhere in there. Try taking the crest trail south from white pass and hunt east of it. Scout scout scout!

Plenty of elk in there. If you can get back in behind conrad Meadows there is some good hunting

A buddy of mine has the muzzle load tag for rim rock and he's saying big bulls up high. Hope that helps.

was up high during archery season and the elk have moved out for the year. find some thick nasty stuff and thats where you will find the elk up there.

Seen a big 5 or smaller 6 point step out at about 100 yards on sept 15 but no bull tag just got the cam on him as he went outa sight. Just look around. I would not leave there with the tag you have!! I'd quit my job.

i will say this, it is one of the hardest units to hunt in Washington.
its very thick and pretty steep. MY brother dad and all had bull tags in there about 4 years ago and ate all three of them.
The weather has to be right and like everyone said scout scout scout.
i think it should be a rule that if you draw a big bull tag that your work has to give you three weeks off from work paid.

I am leaving for this unit on friday at noon. Muzzleloader is shooting good pretty excited. Lots of area to hunt and I think the elk will be talking. I own the clinic that I practice in, so my boss was very very understanding when I drew Rimrock 1-10 muzzy, my wife not quite as much. Good luck to all

Ha Ha, wish i had a boss like that. we hunted big bulls with rifle 3 years ago i think in rimrock and went and filled 2 outta 3 tags maybe it was 4 years ago, same time as backwoods boy. i ate mine. was close several times but he just wouldnt show him self.

Let me know how it goes - My boy got drawn for the any bull rifle (Oct.24) - We will be over scouting during deer season.

muzzle loader in rimrock is almost a slam dunk. Called a nice bull in for dad two seasons ago. Id almost guarantee that you will get a shot opportunity if you try.

did some scouting this weekend and saw some bulls up close and personal!! I've never killed a big bull or been around them when there in the rut. very cool! We put some hard miles on got up on a ridge to glass let out a bugle and all hell broke lose. elk all around us. counting the hours till go time!!!

I had a bull tag in there last year and killed a four point bull but very hard hunt.. I saw more bulls by the lake than anywhere... And above conrad meadows always has some bulls around... And make sure you can tell the difference between cattle tracks and elk, picked up a guy last year that tracked what he thought was a big bull for miles but turned out to be a range cow i felt bad but had to laugh...

Im guessing he has a rifle tag since he was out scouting yesterday during muzzle load season. we wont know how hes doing till the 22nd.
