Thanks everyone.  Reading back through these has motivated me to relive past hunts and put pen to paper.  Preserve the good times with pictures and words everyone!  Sometimes, its all you are left with

6 years ago today we lost Aaron. So many new members who dont know who Colockumelk was. He was passionate, intelligent, fun loving, always positive, courageous, and silly. He was a loving father, dedicated friend and outdoorsman. He was a good friend and an even better brother. He was also a soldier. A soldier who loved the men he lead and believed in his mission down to his very core.

Wow...
What a thread.  Can’t picture what you feel when you read this, Karl.
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Sorely missed. How are his kids and wife doing?

He'll never be forgotten, Karl. I remember that horrible day like it was yesterday.

Never had the honor to meet Captain Blanchard.  Those people who have met some of his family and have seen how he touched lives, they know what kind of man he was. Easy to see he was an excellent son, brother, father, soldier, and hunter.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I can't believe it was six years ago!

You can tell a lot about a man by what others who knew them say about them.

He is obviously loved and honored by many, who could ask for more?
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Aaron face to face, but talked with him about elk on here. I have met and hunted with his brother, during my quality bull hunt. I was also privileged, to honor Aaron through Salmon For Soldiers in 2017. I was honored to have his son Hunter and brother Karl on my boat for the day. Honoring Aaron and his family is a memory I will never forget. Seeing his son land salmon that day, and then be honored in front of the whole Salmon For Soldiers event was an awesome experience to be part of.
