F'ing yellow jackets! How do they find blood so quick?!

Looks like a great time. Good work! Congrats.

Because my elk died  about 15 feet from a yellow jacket nest. I didn't know this until I tried to hang a quarter from a tree and stood on the nest. Got zapped 4 times.

Thanks for all the congratulations.  I was finally able to put the story together in one post so its not so strung out and complicated.  I also just found out that my story got accepted to be run in the new elk hunting magazine "Extreme Elk Hunting"  So I'm pretty excited and definately honored that they liked my story.

I was wrong.  The editors at Extreme Elk decided not to run my story guess I need to get drawn for a branch bull or hunt out of state.   :cryriver: Well I guess there goes my career as an outdoor writer   :chuckle:

Well that sucks :bash:  I would've bought a subscription just to read it.  I thought it was a good story regardless.

It was a great a story, I kept waiting for a reference to bull/cow ratios, still a great story, congrats.

Great story!  Now that's an elk hunt to remember!  Any elk, especially with "stick and string", is a trophy.  Congratulations, Colockumelk- good luck, and thanks for your service to the country.

That was just part one of the story.  There's plenty of that in part ii and part iii.  :chuckle:
