game calls
« on: September 27, 2011, 10:24:44 AM »
I was curious if anyone has had any experience using calls?
I have a primos deer bleat and bawl caller. I was curious if it would be successful against bears. Or if its more a deer only item.

Are bears naturally curious to any type distress call? Or are they more driven toward specific sounds they recognize?

They will respond to any type of distress call.  I like raspy calls, but that is just a personal preference, higher pitched calls have been effective.

I have called in several bears with a javelina call.  Not many of them running around up here.   :chuckle:

BTW watch the video. LOL that is crazy close, despite it being a doe charging in, and not a bear.
