I was hoping I would not need to embarass myself with this post, but I want my gear back more than my ego, so here goes.
I "lost" a construction garbage bag of hunting gear at the first Ice Creek crossing 3 miles down the Ice Creek Trail sometime after August 8. I scoured the area when I was back up there on 9/3-9/4, and for the high hunt 9/14-9/20. No luck. I have contacted the Forest Service about the gear, who contacted everyone they knew was in the area, but no luck on the bag of gear. The Ice Creek Trail had about 5 blowdowns from the river to the creek crossing, and was not passable at the crossing due to avalanche damage, unless you were spider man. So, no horses or stock got up that way until a youth group cleared the trail the second week of August. I am told that my gear was "found", and left at that camp right before the creek crossing in mid August, but was left there when the youth group broke camp after clearing the creek crossing.
The gear includes: two tents, one sleeping pad, optics (my brother's Bushnell 10x40 binos and my dad's Leupold spotting scope

, and miscellaneous backpacking gear.
If anyone was up the Ice Creek Trail after August 8, and before September 3, I would appreciate any information you have, including whether you saw my gear that was purportedly left "in plain site" at that camp right before the creek crossing.
