my muzzy bull
« on: October 01, 2011, 12:18:20 PM »
got up the hill at light this morning with my father in law calling for me. let out a location bugle and a couple cow calls and waited about 15min, nothing. walked 50 yards into the trees and spooked out a spike. cow called at him and he stopped and in came another one, a big spike by 2. let them work out and continued on. got about 300 yards farther in and we split up about 50 yards cow calling back and forth. i heard movement to my left and looked and there were the two spikes again! eastside dream lol. as i was watching them i heard a little bugle about 200 yards out towards my father in law so i walked over there and he bugled again almost on top of us! i snuck down the hill about 15 yards as he walked backwards cow calling and making noise. i looked down the hill trying to find the bull. i then see another spike :bash: i watched him for about a minute then all of a sudden the bull stepped out from behind some little trees 25 yards off. i raised my muzzleloader and put it right between the front shoulders coming straight at me and shot. BULL DOWN! instantly dropped and boy was i happy! ended up being a 6x7, not a bad general westside hunt! thanks for reading!
