I decided to go old school this year & hunt deer with my Winchester 94 30-30. It is a angle eject model, so It has a Leupold 2x7 scope.

Thinking back, almost all my BT harvested have been less than 100yds, so I see no disadvantage over my .308 model 700.

No reason why not...I hunted my first 5 years with a Winchester 94 in .32 Winchester Special.  Took 4 deer and 3 elk with that rifle and 170 grain bullets.  Nothing farther than about 90 yards either.  Critters were just as dead as the ones my friend's dad shot with his 375 H&H.

Whatta ya mean I can't have one of each?

What we have here is...Washington Department of NO Fish and WATCHABLE Wildlife.

WDFW is going farther and farther backwards....we need FISH AND GAME back!

That has always been my favorite choice and the one I wanted first. My dad found me a good deal on a 35 when I was a kid and well. I still don't have one. Spending my money on grand-kids now. I'm never going to get one.  :(
times before with just leather, wool and cotton.

Yeh.
I don't like it. I like my son's pre 64 winchester better.
I did find some dry lube that makes the Marlin cycle better.
She likes it and it fits her well. She picked it out.
I load 110gr bullets for her for practice and she shoots the 135 Hornady Leverevolution for deer.

I had a 336w in .30-30 that I bought new when I was 18. It cost $275 then and I sold it for some stupid reason. Now theyre going for alot more. Thats the gun I regret selling the most. I really want another one. There isnt any real reason to have one now because I have other guns that can do the same job, but I still really want one.

Wallmart has the Marlin 336w for $356. I also have many other rifles, but decided to try something differant this year.
