Any avid sea-dukkers here? I'm looking to hit them pretty hard this year. I have the spots :IBCOOL:

Shot scoters quite a bit but that's it. never really tried to set up on em ever. I would like to shoot a Harley or a few longtails though.

I've never sea duck hunted, but would love to, since I'll only be in Washington for 1 season.

I rotate them into my waterfowl schedule.  I don't start chasing them until later November, Dec. and Jan.  Just picked up some new Avery Scooter Decoys as well.  Catch up with me later in the season if you want to shoot a few.
Cut em!

pjb -
Have been chasing sea-ducks with my son for about 5 years.  Usually make several trips a year specifically for sea-ducks and/or other divers.  Find them to be an interest change of pace from chasing snow geese and the puddlers and have enjoyed learning more about the biology and behavior of the various sea-ducks we hunt.   As with most hunting I found a better understanding of the object of the hunt helps increases not only my enjoyment but my success.

Try to find new areas to hunt every year.
