Oh..I can hardly stand it...

Will update my Dads moose hunt trip in the "other" big game forum shortly...
but yesterday was a banner day for me. We came around a corner in the truck and what do we see..

A solid black wolf bounding up the hill at about 500 yards, with another grey wolf! How freakin cool/exciting/agrevating was that!

Blackie bounded up hill...paused to check us out near the timber line...
My brother and I spotted it at the same time, we both bailed out, tried to get a range and a safe shooting position...

The full grey wolf was slightly down hill from him...I checked him out in the binos...I could see the black ones yellow eyes from that distance...freakishly awesome!

By the time we got set up, they bailed into the timber on a knob. We went do to a drive on them (two guys through the woods, two on the back side of the woods,) but no luck...

Oh, how I hated to leave this morning....at least wolf season is until March! Sorry no pics....I was too busy tring to get a bead on em.

To bad you couldnt get one down.  Any dead wolf would of been good but the black one with yellow eyes is what i want badly!

Did they look afraid of humans or were they on the move heading somewhere?

They werent gonna wait on us to get a bead on em...they hung out..we were a long ways out...like i say, bout 500 yards+...they watched us for about maybe 15-20 seconds...then bounced.

I would say they had met people before. :hunter:
