Grandma's 1st deer X 2
« on: October 04, 2011, 07:13:50 AM »
My grandfather pasted away earlier this year after fighting liver cancer.  He was a great man and outdoorsman.  Venison has always been a main source of meat for us growing up in MI so my grandma decided she was going to get her own deer this year.  She hunted with a crossbow and got this little nubbin buck and doe last night about a half hour apart.  I know they're tiny little things but she was so proud to be able to put meat on the table without my grandpa.  She took them both right through the heart.  We are all pretty proud of her.  Just thought I would share. :)

G Ma rocks!!!!!!

Congratulations to her for putting her own meat in the freezer!  Your grandpa would be proud!!!!!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Way to go Gma.  This reminds me of my late grandma who would let the boys go out hunting, stay at the house, shoot a deer.  She, pretty much shot one every year from her porch and would have it hanging before everyone got home.  Priceless.
