I just was amazed at how I dont have to spend some hundred of dollars to get the latrst gadget to get a bear or deer in to shot range. I can just use something as simple as a cell phone, and I got a significant response. Not an animal in the clearing, but a result none the less.Perhaps if I had given it more time, or found longer duration mp3's I could really get a good response. My biggest worry is using my cell and having it get wet, or getting it messed up. I also use it as a back up for rescue, and communicating for backup in tracking should I need it.

What do you mean by "significant response? Did you get an animal to move closer to your phone when you tried it? If you heard an animal move away from you I would not consider this a good result. I have farted while on a deer stand and chased deer away, and this was done for free.

I used my cell phone and a Cass Creek Power horn speaker ($40) for two years before I bought a Foxpro Spitfire. Worked great and called in lots of critters.
