Selkirk Moose Is Tagged
« on: October 09, 2011, 02:51:01 PM »
Had a fun hunt and would like to thank all of you for the advice and information you gave me.  It helped out alot with locating moose and calling.  Got some good footage while me and my cousing were there and had a fun hunt.  Never thought that hunting moose could be so fun.  I can not wait until someone I know gets drawn so I can tag along and offer them some of my own advice and experience it with them.  I filled my tag on the 7th and we hunted since the opener.  Thise was the largest bull we encountered in between then and I decided that he was the one.  I see now how so many hunters are addicted to moose in the rut.  We had a bull come in to our call within a two minutes and it was intense.  We were escorted to our truck by another bull that was pissed and we got some good footage of that and my adrenaline was pumping.  It was one of the funner hunts I have been on and cant wait to book a trip out of state for my next one.

Congrats. Hope I draw one of these years.

The stove worked really well an we would put a couple presto logs in it at night but were going to put it to the test next month in Idaho for whitetail and it normally is in the 20's then so I'll give you an update on the performance then. But my cousin bought it for under 200 so it was a screaming deal and we loaded one row of firewood in the truck and used only half of it. The first night he stoked it and I had to sit outside the tent for an hour cus it was so overwhelming. I would recommend it for the price and you can fit full length pieces of wood in it also
