Gasman that is great!  I personally dont trust my boat making skills on the water but plan on getting either a marsh rat or jon boat someday. How would a sneak boat like that hold up to some waves?

I dont know. More of a flat water boat IMO. (same for swamp rat. these are about the same size as swamp rat)

There may be others on here that have experance with them on tidal waters. The will be able to answer that situation better then I.

I've had mine on the salt but I'm pretty cautious when it comes to any big-ish waves. I do suspect they can handle some decent water though, as any chop will roll up onto and off of the bow. I think the issue would be if you are into waves big enough to start filling the boat (obviously)

I wouldn't mess around with waves with one of these pod type boats.  They swamp quickly or fill fast.  Some have better floatation so you may just get wet.  They are good around the edges of the big water where you can get to safety if need be.  Some of the actual layout boats will do much better in the open water as they are made not to sink, but you still rely on a tender vessel for safety and bird retrieval.  Everything still falls onto common sense.  If you lack it, we will be reading about you in the paper.  If the water starts to get big, pull out.

Nice job boys...bet they were fun to build also. Something I may need to do in the future. I could see it being effective when pulled behind a larger boat in order to get to an area than launch the layout. Only problem is where to put the dog? I just can't see duck hunting without a dog.
