Small Idaho Moose
« on: October 11, 2011, 06:29:51 PM »
[smg id=10784 type=av align=center caption="Idaho Shiras moose"]

Here is a small Idaho Moose we called in Sunday. 30 yards from us. Not sure who was more excited, my wife who has the tag or me for finally getting a moose to respond to my calls. I was grunting as we were walking back to our truck when a cow bellowed LOUDLY from about 400 yards down a hill. It was so much loader then any call I'd done I wasnt sure if it was a cow moose or a moo cow as they run cattle in this area. After remembering the round up was over 10 days before I realized it was a cow moose. I grunted a few times more and she bellowed again and then this guy starts grunting at us. We grunted back and forth from about 200 yards for about 15 minutes before we decided to move closer. As we got to about 60 yards he heard us walking on the road and up the hill he came. Had just enough time to get her set up and the camera out. He stuck around for about 10 minutes letting me film and take pictures Was pretty darn exciting. Now to find his grandpa.

Very cool, good luck finding his Daddy!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
