I agree with you, if it was a legal take it was one of the better bucks killed in the state last year.

...........the was posted on the internet. :)
I know, you told me that last year but the pics never  showed up. :tung:  And I said, "one of".

Pics of what?  Seems to me I remember telling I would send you a pic, but forgot of what now?  Your late tag buck?

I thought you were saying it was one of the better bucks "posted on the internet". And I said yes you were going to send some stud buck pictures and a pic of the buck you thought might of been the one I killed but from the year before.

Should I split this?

I need to take a vote on what the name of the new thread should be so we don't ruin this guy's thread any further. How about "Questionable Desert(unit?)  Buck"?

Yeah I would split it, put it as a desert unit or desert buck. I think we quashed this thread like a soap opera.

Johnny, Call your "friend" and ask him where the buck was killed. GMU 290 Yes or No. I know the answer but your are confusing the hell out of people on here. The guy probably hasn't been back on this site because of the wardens looking into his kill because of a misunderstandment. Some text message says "desert buck" when the muzzie desert tag hadn't started.

While poaching in the desert unit is absolutely horrible, this buck was taken legally and outside of the unit. Congrats on a nice kill and I hope the guy comes back to the site.

Friken weird!  I live in the so called desert type terrain and have hunted mulies here for 20+ years along with allot of other serious big game hunters. The " Desert Unit" is almost our back yard per say. I spend allot of time in and around the area and NOT one of us calls any Mulie we have shot a " Desert buck" unless it is out of the " Desert unit". PERIOD! :bash:

It may be legitament if you kill the bull in or near a patch of the blue desert flowers on the lower Clockum. If that is the case , I have killed a Blues bull in the Clockum. 8)

This whole thing sucks in my opinion. but just to stir the pot last year i was duck hunting in the desert unit when some goofball walked by with his rifle i flag him down to ask how his hunt was going and he told me this unit sucks a buddy told him their were some good bucks here but he hadn't seen anything. i informend him this was a permit only unit and he shrugged his shoulders and walked off. What an idiot!!!

The unit is open to all the general seasons and a late bow hunt.  Still a few big deer in the spot were I was hunting well just call it nuna-ridge for now.
