I planned on spot and stalking mulies during the early season but it was too dry so I ended up still hunting which payed off.

Most likely busting through the nastiest thickest parts of a clear cut , I am usually good for one deer to pop up . But will it have horns is the question

sitting somewhere for the first few hours and then maybe moving to another spot or wandering to known hiding spots once the deer get pushed. just depends on what im seeing and where im seeing it.

On a clear cut at sun up 2 miles behind a closed gate. Then into the timber or some other haunts that hold a few deer.

Spotting. Close the distance while remaining incognito. Harvesting. Tagging. Processing. Eating. Under ideal circumstances it will occur in that order.

Well I'm taking my son up to my honey hole where I saw 3 nice bucks together during early archery in hopes to maybe see one. Small clear cut sitting and waiting 2 hours before day light behind a locked gate. Good luck to all of you..

still hunted this morning for a few hours, watched 5 different does work the reprod, was interesting to watch their tactics. one of them stood dead still for 10 minutes and we had a stare down. these blacktail really like to work the ledges and brush. was great learning. also had a bear blowing air at me for about 20 minutes around 7am. that got my blood pumping but i never did see him.. on the way back down saw fresh buck tracks (dew imprint) in the timber, i'll be going back to look for him after lunch.
