And then theres the chance she will enjoy the social aspect of the clubs and shoots, but not care for the blood and guts of the hunt.....very common.  There is way more to the sport of archery than hunting.....archery itsself will keep you busy year round, making for a better archer.....then, the hunter in you has to get the archer in you into position to succeed as an archer.  You can succeed as a hunter, only to fail as an archer.  If you arent a capable hunter, you may not get an opportunity to succeed as an archer.  Lots to learn and become proficient at........may as well get started!!!!

it all depends on what you want! A buddy of mine visited a local bow shop down here. his first year bow hunting so he wanted to get a decent bow but nothing real special. he was able to walk out with a complete set up and 6 arrows for $450. and I tell you what. that bow shoots just as nice as mine does and I have about $500 more into mine

Diamond Razors Edge package deal. $399.00 at Wholesale Sports. Absolutely perfect starter set and it comes complete minus arrows and a release. Good luck man. My Fiancee likes hers alot and i gave her my used arrows so i could buy new ones.  :chuckle:

Try archerytalk.com, the classified section. I also went to wholesale sports in Burlington yesterday and they were having a huge tent sale.(thru Sunday) 40% off red tag items. I found a fully equipped Bear bow for $250. Muzzy broadheads were 40% off of $25 for 3 heads. Some arrows and releases were also 40% off. Alot of stuff was going pretty fast though.
