Great numbers in the palouse?
« on: October 16, 2011, 09:15:34 PM »
Not seeing anyone posting any photos of deer from the palouse area. I have never seen so many bucks in my entire life, thinking these last few weak winters are really helping out the numbers. Saw 2 Monster mulies that just wouldn't hop to the right side of the fence.

Wondering if anyone is noticing this same trend in buck / doe ratio in the area.

I hunt for peace of mind.

I've been working out of the Spokane area for the last 6 days and even with two noisey coworkers hiking around the woods I've still seen some fantastic animals... two legal bucks this weekend, one I only was able to see for about 15 seconds but it was at least a 6x7 maybe 7x7. I've been shocked at the lack of shots these past few mornings.. I've only heard three, all of which were today and most likely were firing at the same animal.
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Hunted the snake river breaks and saw about 1/4 the deer that I usually see. Still took a decent buck.

We saw plenty of deer, both muley and whitetails, but very few legal bucks. We saw close to twenty five bucks between Saturday and Sunday and i think 10 were legal. Our group of 8 got three bucks, two whities and one muley. We were in the Steptoe unit.

got our deer early in the river breaks, but NOTHING around of any size this year where we were at.  Several young bucks taken.
