http://www.kare11.com/news/article/942649/396/Big-black-bear-bagged-near-Hudson-WI NORTH HUDSON, Wis. -- Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are taking measurements of a black bear that was killed near Hudson on Sunday, October 9.
Lon Feia shot the bear in the woods near his home.
"The size of his head is just amazing. It is just huge," Feia said. "I didn't even know bears got that big."
At 648 pounds with its feet still dangling on the ground, it is no doubt one of the largest bears to be killed in Wisconsin and it could possibly be a record.
Officials plan to measure the bear's head to see if it might break the 727-pound state record for black bears.
