I can rest now! (Bearzilla down)
« on: October 16, 2011, 07:28:43 PM »

This bear was killed within a mile of our families property in hudson wisconsin. If I can get my cell phone pictures uploaded to my computer, I will post pics of bear. the bear tore down all of our birdfeeders and was sitting on the porch when I was last back there. It was so big that I almost crapped my pants when I saw it in August :yike:

for more pictures, google "large bear in hudson wisconsin"

NORTH HUDSON, Wis. -- Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are taking measurements of a black bear that was killed near Hudson on Sunday, October 9.

Lon Feia shot the bear in the woods near his home.

"The size of his head is just amazing. It is just huge," Feia said. "I didn't even know bears got that big."

At 648 pounds with its feet still dangling on the ground, it is no doubt one of the largest bears to be killed in Wisconsin and it could possibly be a record.

Officials plan to measure the bear's head to see if it might break the 727-pound state record for black bears.

Wow. One thing that is awesome is that they put that on the news and the news people used the correct terms i.e. "hunter." Here in WA we would be lucky for it to make it on the news and then have the news people use the correct terms.
