Scope mounting kit
« on: October 17, 2011, 10:00:38 AM »
Looking for a scope mounting kit.

I know some of you have just collected the tools over the years but i have minimal asccess to a good manly tool store so i'm looking at a kit.

Hex bits, torx, tiny screwdrivers, and a torque driver are the key items i'm thinking i'll need but i realise that the kits usually come with a scope alignment/ honing tool as well.

Let me know what you have and what you suggest.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

One tool I've been looking at lately is called Level-Level-Level.  It has a small level that fits in the receiver to level the gun, then a level that attaches to the scope.  Adjust the bubble for both and crosshairs should be level.

I ended up ordering a weaver professional scope mounting kit that comes with the torque driver, a level-level-level, and a ring lapping kit.

Also ordered a new gun vise.
