son's first buck
« on: October 17, 2011, 07:17:32 PM »
opening morning walking the sage brush hills my sons and i came along this guy. he stood up in his bed at 146 yards down hill. my oldest son and myself archery hunt and my 11 year old this is his second year with a rifle. he took a doe his first year north of spokane but this is his first buck. we were able to set up the shooting sticks and he was calm and collected until the deer dropped in it's tracks. perfect shot through both shoulders and it was over. at that point is when both my kids were going crazy.. there is nothing better then sharing the outdoors with your kids and taking in every bit of it to the memory bank.
these are from a cell phone I'll post some better pics from my buddies camera. but this is where he fell.

Congrats on a great first buck, thats awesome for you and your son!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

Congratulations, it doesn't get any better than a successful hunt with your young sons. Hopefully there will be many more.

That was a great story. Nothing better than being with a youngster when they harvest their first buck. A memory that none of you will ever forget. Congrats on a great buck.
