I know folks mount all the big bucks they kill, but how many spikes/forkies do you do? I know for me and many others they would be a trophy. I (read this as my wife) am not into mounts for the house, but just curious!!

Any buck is a trophy to me and I try to have it shoulder mounted unles money is tight and then I just do a plaque with the antlers.

It depends. It varies from year to year. Mostly first deer or special hunts someone is trying to remember.

I did two spikes and one forky last year.
I think they look the best sometimes. Very clean looking mount...

I did two last year, a fork (first buck and beautiful hide) and a button buck with one inch horns. The button was shot by a 9 year old (first buck) and she wanted it mounted in a full sneak head down so she could get a good look at his horns, that was one proud girl! When I got the form and opened the box
12 inch neck thought I had ordered too small of a form, but ended up fitting just right! Cute buck and fun mount.

I like it. They wouldn't take up as much room either.

Thats a heck of a trophy you got to mount Duane, I love it!! Its not always about the horn size. I have mounted off the top of my head like 8 spikes , most were first time deer and small forks I cant even remember but it is quite a few
. Im with Joe, I too think they look the best sometimes as they are usually as perfect a cape as you will see. I actually did not mount a spike last year but did mount a few forkies.

Charlie, I was thrilled to mount that trophy for her, he was in perfect shape, hair was super soft and full of rich color. Suprizingly he had some chatter on the tips of his ears, maybe from scratching due to bugs or possibly from early rut activity working the hardwood
