a (dna proven) wild wolf was hit near Nine Mile on the Hwy.

Are you talking about Nine Mile down river from Spokane?

Yes, I'm 90% certain the WDFW recorded that wolf as a wild wolf that was hit. I'm taking the lazy route and not providing the link, but if you look around you will find it.

Near TumTum if I remember right

The Gamie mentioned the Tum Tum deal also.

Maybe we should educate the rednecks about sound supressors for there rifles. They have always been legal to own and posses in Washington, but you could not take them to the range and shoot. It was a gross misdimeanor under state law. "BUT", that has changed. You can own and posses AND use them now under a sound ordinace that was passed this last summer. If nobody hears anything, how do you know what happened?   :dunno:

If the State is so intent on having wolves, we should insist they get them in King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Thurston counties.......laws would change over night.

Funny you should say that, one of the Stevens county commissionaires who is also a member of the cattlemans assoc was at a wolf meeting and told members of the committee for wolfs in the state, lets let wolfs out in  King, Pierce, and Snohomish county. The committee said thats not traditional wolf habitat, and his reply was lets let the wolfs decide

Isn't that the truth......as we all know, those counties run the state in game law changes even though they don't have a quarter of the problems.  :twocents:

When I lived in Rice last year, we saw them right off Orin-Rice Raod and Lindsey Road.  Two adults two pups.  Could have been hybrid, but looked all wolf to me.

(off topic)
My dad has a burmese mountian dog that used to be one of the released dogs at the summit of Orin-Rice.  Great dog once he got some attention and training.  He found him wandering the woods with a bunch of other dogs and so he called out to the groupl and this one came to him and jumped in his truck.

There have been several spotted regularly on the Inchelium side just south of the Ferry.   The native I talked to planned on killing them on site eventhough it is spelled out directly in his rules NOT TO.  Almost every logger I know over there has at least one gun in the truck and he figured they'd get nailed.

We used to have a pack of four here about ten years ago, they lasted a week and was never heard from again.

Yes I know that Elk have swam the river. The Coulville Indians planted a bunch of Elk on there land several years ago and shot up the herd so much that they swam the river to get away! I would think a wolf could to, but only in search of food if there was no food on there side of the river. All the locals in northern Lincoln county want to keep the Elk thing quite. The wolf thing on MY hunting ground now, makes me very angry. I am going to go back over there between X-mas and New Years for some yotes. Maybe I can see a wolf then in the snow and take some pics and post them.

HAHAHAHA your funny.

I saw wolf sign opening day myself near of wilbur/creston. I had all but dismissed it as a pyraneese or such......but why? We were lucky enough to not experience any lowering deer numbers.
