Has anyone done much research on this topic and how it affects wildlife activity. Any info?

You can look it up on line. There's a ton of different theories out there but from my experience the pressure (hunting) takes priorities over almost all the other factors during the hunt. They'll move when they feel they can do so without getting shot at. The rut nullifies this quite a bit but rifle hunters don't get to hunt the best part of the rut for deer unless they put in for the special draw dates that usually run during modern rifle for west side elk.
