Good boots for alot of walking???

alright guys, i just got a damn job where i do nothing but walk allll day. my feet are in horrible condition wearin romeos so i wanted to see what you guys&gals would recommend boot wise that wont tear my feet up and give me blisters. only thing is they have to be water proof, be a 8-12" high top and around 250$ tops.

I am on my feet most of the day and on concrete. I use Timberland Pro's. They last about 10 months for me before they break down. The most comfortable steel toe (composite). I have ever worn. I have been wearing them for about 4 years total and have never had a problem or felt the toe protector. They come in brown or black and waterproof or not. Feet don't sweat in them either.

thats a good thing i forgot to mention. my feet have been sweating sense i started the job and the bottom of my feet look like ive been swimmin in a pool for a few months...

When I started looking for comfortable, waterproof walking/hiking/hunting boot I took my brothers recommendation and bought a Pair of Lowa Renegades GTX (Goretex). Last time I checked, about 3 weeks ago, you could get them in Portland for about $150 from Oregon Mountain Community or $180-$210 from REI depending on discounts. I bought them from REI because of their no questions asked, 100% guarantee, replacement or exchange; the guy that worked with me said if I didn't get at least 5 years out of the Vibram soles, they leak, or for what ever reason I'm not happy then bring them back!

They feel like slippers right out of the box and the next day I did a 4-5 mile hunt/hike in absolute comfort. They are only 6" boots, never thought I'd go that low but they will be great for early season and during wet grass down pours I'm going to wear my gators for higher waterproof protection. The toe doesn't have any protection and feels soft as compared to most hunting boots but I figured if they wear out I'll replace them, free.

I'd recommend you give them a try if the boot height isn't a show stopper for you.

Hard to beat Danner boots..  I have the Pronghorns 1000 gram and Jackal's.  I would never buy another boot.....  They are the most confortable boots I have ever owned.

looked at a few different boots and i think i really like the red wings. i tried on a pair of irish setters and they were pretty comfy. think im gonna go back try on a few more but ill prolly end up with those. thanks guys!

Give Keen's a try.  I have a day hiking pair and love them so much I am getting a 6" pair of hikers for hunting.  They also have come out with work boots up to 7 or 8" I believe.  I have always had trouble with getting supportive boots for my feet but my search is over, I wear these all day and my dogs still feel great.  Several models offer waterproof protection and I have seen both steel and composite toes boots.
