Went out this morning
« on: July 06, 2008, 12:11:08 PM »
I got up at 4:00am and got ready to go coyote hunting. It was a beautiful sunrise and I saw more deer then I have in a long time.

I got out to my first stand around 6:00am. I called for 20min and only had a doe show up to see what was going on.

I made my second stand about 1/2 mile away from the first and was using jackrabbit dist. After around 15 min a little female yote showed up at 50 yards. I turn the call off, got my shooting sticks and Ar lined up as she ran right at me. I whistled and she stop at 20ft and turned to look at me as I squeezed the trigger then my AR barked and down she went.

I was set up at the green arrow, the foxpro was at the red arrow, and the coyote is at my feet in this shot.

After I let every settle for a few min I walk about 500yards and was look for a good place to set up again the another little female jump out of a current bush. It must have seen what had happend because it took off like I had shoot at it. I droped to my knee pulled my AR off my shoulder got rested on my shooting stick and barked at her. Luckly she slowed down, stopped and looked at me at around 200yards. I squeeze the trigger tell my AR barked again, the kick made my shooting stick fall and I did see if I had hit her or not tell I looked in the grass where she had been.

I was at the green arrow, the current bush is the red arrow and The yote was at my feet.

My last stand was busted my someone shooting by the road about 1/2mile away. :bash:

Nice country! (Sigh. :( ) If I lived over there I'd never get ANYTHING done! I'd be out calling all the time! (Of course, I've heard people over there in the desert pining for the rain forest! Grass is always greener I guess...)

Nice going!
