Is the second one injured or did you mark him with a paintball gun?

I thought it looked bird crap.  I hope it's not a gut shot or something and he is about to die.  I didn't even think of that :bash:

I think I would keep a look out for that last one.  He looks pretty healthy...but that does look like a gut shot deer.  If that is bird crap, I would keep a look out for whatever bird craps that big. :yike:

Is your camera able to do video? if so i would move your camera back a little if possible and change it to video and see if he comes back in and see how he is walking. that does look like green vile. if it is a gut shot i would invest alot of time trying to find him so he doesn't suffer. plus hes a really nice bt.

I would think if it was an arrow the deer would look alot worse than it does.  archer season ended over two weeks before the picture was taken.  Infection willl set in and make that deer very sick and week; if not kill it.  My guess is it was shot with rifle sometime last week.  If that is the case it will probably not live too long.  Like said earlier...I would see if I could get more pics or video (as smitty said).  If it is truely shot, I would hunt it diligently to put it out of its misery.  I have a multi season tag and still have my deer tag.  I would waste my late palouse tag to help if needed.

if he has a camera where he lives (whidbey island) probably not a rifle wound. 410 is a firearm restriction gmu  :twocents:

Good point smitty....I guess you can now hunt the general season with archery equipment as well.  Can you use muzzy or shotgun in restricted areas?  I have never researched this as I don't hunt those areas.

You can muzzy and shotgun.  My 10 year old killed a nice little 4X4 at this same spot on Tuesday with a muzzy.  I usually archery hunt but I decided to go buy a tag for modern since I am on leave until the end of the month.  I'm getting ready to head out there now (had to babysit until the wife got off work).  Hopefully he will make his way in front of me. Wish me luck!

That second buck really is nice, but if he was really gut shot you'd think he would be holed up somewhere dieing the long painful death.
