before i asked this question i had no idea it was a NP, I did know that National parks were illegal to hunt on. however, i did get Np and NF mixed up. So i understand that to some it was a dumb question, but in all reality everyone on this site has asked a dumb question one time or another so i take credit for this one. I wasn't expecting everyone to make me feel dumb for not knowing something. I'm new to it all, and benig new to anything your not supposed to know everything about it. i appreciate all the positive feed back, and i'll take the negative ones as my initiation into the sport and the site haha. now if only i can kill a deer tomorrow it will be final.

Curious.  Do you live out on the OP?   My Sister lives in Sequim.  Let me know, send me a PM and we can chat about some areas around there.

PAGE 34 and 35 of your hunting regulation book will outline the off limits areas. If you can't figure that out, prolly best to switch to a new hobby. You could get in a lot of trouble and ignorance is no excuse. Also asking legal advice on an online forum is probably not the smartest move either, good way to get yourself in trouble. The buckhorn wilderness area is close by hurricane ridge. Hike Mt. Townsend and watch the chutes and clearings on a rainy day. Good luck./

Enough of the bashing of the bashers.

Sweelou: with all due respect, did you know that Hurricane Ridge was in a National Park?  If you did, and didn't know it's illegal to hunt in a NP, that would be a good question to ask: "is it legal to hunt in a National Park?".

If you didn't know it's in a National Park, it would be a good first step to look at a map and locate Hurricane Ridge.  I can't imagine any map not prominently showing it.

Doing even a bit of homework first generally results in more helpful replies.

So Bob are you suggesting that asking on this forum is not a proper means to do your "homework" or do "research"?

So in other words go and find all your answers and gain your knowledge outside of this forum and once you know all you need to know then come here to this forum but until then don't rely on this forum to do your research or get information you are trying to obtain.
It's a TIKKA thing..., you may not understand.

If you're still hunting by the late season, about half of those deer will move down to Little River Rd on DNR land.  Some of the trails up to Hurricane Ridge are huntable.  You can even take a dirt bike up it.  There will be a sign about a mile and a half in that marks the boundary with the national park.
If you really want to hunt in the park ( :yike: :bdid:) might as well go into Hayden Pass, that's where the monster buck lives right now. :tung:
