Buddies first buck (pics added)
« on: October 22, 2011, 06:49:06 PM »
While hunting a walk in area last year my buddy tagged along since he was layed off that week, I got my buck with him and he helped me big time getting that buck out, he wasn't and has never hunted last year or before that, and I told home next year he has to get his stuff taken care of so he could hunt with me and id do everything I could to repay the debt.  Well, a year later and today we did just that, and he bagged his first blacktail.  Not much of a story, just hiked in, seen the buck, and he took care of business.  Very happy for him, I can tell he is very proud, just a forky but a buck none the less.

Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

In all honesty any blacktail buck is a trophy in itself.  His freeer is now full and he's got a memory that will last a lifetime whether it was full of excitement or just a well executed non eventful harvest. Congrats to you  and your friend!

That buck will do good in his freezer, he has 3 little dependants at home.  If anybody would be so kind to pm me an email address that I could send a pic to and then you post the pic I send to this thread id appreciate it, still don't know how to post pics.
