1. They should not be trying to entrap people. 2. Since it is prefectly legal to take a picture of a buck, I would have told the ranger to go *censored* himself. Do we live in a free country or what?

when I was a kid and grew up in the boondocks, which ever of my buddys got his deer first, we would skin it and throw it over a saw horse in a field along the road good times good times...

I wish they would use it more on private ground that way you can get tresspassing/shooting from a road and a rig Man that thing would make a killing around here. I am surprised to hear that they are doing it in a open area on public land. Just hoping to bust someone shooting from a rig Most times from what I know they do t on a road that is not legal to shoot from as well as in a area not legal for people to hunting Taking pic's is not a problem. Plus by the legal definition of entrapment. What they are doing is not entrapment.

I would hope they [gamies] would have better things to do then harass roadhunters,being this is onpublic land and during an open season.If i was driving back to camp with my kids and saw that I would  jump out and shoot it too.

I could understand if robo was a 2pt muley or was on private property.Just seems to me like hasselin the people who are actually trying to stay within the law.IMO

Actually, I think public land IS the place for it, your chances of other hunters being injured does not exist on private land with no other hunters......public land could be crawling with guys. Not easy to assess the situation when focused on a deer and getting the rig stopped.

They had a buck decoy set up in the methow wildlife refuge as well.  It was near the entrance off of Hwy 20.  Looked pretty good, but no action to it.  I think it must have been shot to many times.  Gamey said people were shooting it up all day on sunday

Whats the rule for shooting off the road in Washington?  Is there one?   I think Idaho you have to be 20 feet FROM the bank or something like that.   

I loved coming around the corner one time and was looking down the barrel of a 30-06 of someone trying to shoot a grouse that was in the road.  I was NOT impressed.


I remember sitting on the hill and watching this truck pull up, 5 guys bail out and shoot a buck that was in my dads neighbors corral WITH MULES IN IT.   They shot the deer fished it through the fence and slid it into the back of their truck and drove off.  CRAZY what people do just to notch a tag.

i love that they put out decoys, and its not entrappment. its designed to catch the pieces of sh!t that make hunters look bad. big suprise, but some hunters are tired of the asses out there they are sharing the woods, errr i mean road with, and this thread has exposed some of those asses.

As I have said before, the guys that are so pissed off about decoys and call it entrapment are usually the guys that have something to hide or the type to get popped by it.

Yes there is one. If it's a county or state maintained road. There is a certain amount of feet you have to be off the road from the center line. "I am not sure the exact number" Private roads like ones on say your ranch are o.k. to shoot from, but you can't shoot from a rig still. Unless you have a disabled permit. Then there are still rules with that as well. We have had those charges added on by wardens to people trying to shoot deer from the road on our property so I know there is a restriction on that. I like it when they hammer them with shooting from a rig/shooting from a maintained road/ loaded gun in the rig/ tresspassing. Sure adds up nice and puts a dent in the idiots walllets
