So do you guys think this warm weather will hurt the rut starting this week? I have not seen one deer this weekend!

The blackies have already started.  Next week a bunch of dumb bucks will hit the ground.

Does will do what they want to do, it is the bucks who follow them, kinda like humans.  :chuckle:  As the week progresses find does and you will find bucks.

I was in Vail on Saturday, saw 18 deer, two bucks.  A 2 point and spike.  The 2 point was with 4 does, and the spike with 3 does.  They weren't showing any signs of rutting, probably just still hanging around their mothers.

Saw 4 does this morning and 4 does this evening, no bucks with them.

Has the rut started? I don't know if it's really going yet, maybe some pre-rut. That said, Halloween is just a week away and is always my favorite time to hunt, because in my experience there is more rutting activity going on that during late buck.  It's not far off!

I do not know whats going on but it could get better any day now ...Seen 6 Saturday and nothen today ...but I have been hunting one particular buck I call ( liquar ) :chuckle: he has made over 20 rubs in the last 8 days and I have Sat on this buck 4 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evenings and he will not show himself ..But he is a timber buck and lives in the thickest dang alder patch known to man ....but being a whitetail hunter my whole life I will continue to be relentless on his knockturnal butt... hopefully we makes a mistake real soon ...i hunted this buck last year to in late bow season ...seen doe everyday and him once when he jumped up in my face and never seen him again....thats why I decided rifle this year just to hunt him the last week of october... we will see what happens ....needs to frost a couple mornings
