I did not see a cougar, but I found a deer that a cougar had been feeding on. It was a fresh kill and not much had been eaten. I think that I might have scared it out of the area as I approached the kill site. The deer wasn't cover up at all. I didn't have a cougar tag, but fortunately I didn't see the cougar either. I went back a few days later and the deer have been completely devoured.

This email is to inform you that the Fish and Wildlife Commission recently adopted changes to cougar seasons in Chelan, Okanogan, Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, and Klickitat counties.  Cougar season in these counties opens for "Any legal weapon" on Oct. 15, 2011 and closes December 31, 2011.

Was wondering how many people were able to take advantage of this new season?

I did see one, but it took off so fast that I didn't have time to shoot it.  It was a big one unfortunately.  He lived to hunt another day.
Cut em!

I think cats are really cool animals... too bad they eat deer and elk.. If we could only get them to only eat coyotes, wolves, or bums or something... gooie ducks... they would be a lot cooler.
