4th of July weekend
« on: July 07, 2008, 05:10:20 PM »
Thought I would share my weekend excursion. My wife and I, and 4 other couples rented a house on the beach on the strait of juan de fuca for 3 days. Mostly just relaxing on the beach, shooting the sh#@. Maybe a few cocktails. ;) We did burn off our hangovers Sat. hiking to Olympic Hot Springs, which was awsome. Lots of deer. One small velvet buck let me get within 10yds. As usual, my camera battery died within a mile into the hike so no deer pics. Anyway, a great weekend with friends.

The house

the firepit

The path to the beach

The beach.

Some quail even joined the party

Sunset

We hiked to the point to shoot off some fireworks

And it begins

Sparkler madness

The one pic I got on the hike.

The next morning some of us walked down to make sure we got all of our trash and any more we found on the way. Anyway that was my 4th. Hope you enjoyed.

Looks like a really nice laid back time. Thanks for sharing the pics.

The camera thing is a curse. You'd think I'd carry extra batteries, but noooo. The pics of the quail were with my old minolta maxxum with a cheap quaternary 70-300mm lens, that I switched to after the battery issue.
