Armless Archer
« on: October 24, 2011, 03:05:28 PM »
I met a man a few months back at the Filint Tip Archers that only had the use of one arm and was a mean shot with a bow.  He held the bowstring in his teeth.  I thought, wow, there's somebody getting it done no matter what.

Here's one step beyond that:

He is on the US ParaOlympic team... the guy right behind him in the picture is Dugie Denton a friend of mine from Montana.  Dugie is also a disabled archer, he was in the Army and I think it was an IED that messed (dugie) him up,  that whole team is awesome.  My hats off to their sponsors who allow them to represent the USA around the world.  Hey Hornseeker if you read this, Dugie is the father of the youngster you told me about,  his kids are tearing up the youth ranks in the NFAA.

At last years NFAA Indoor Nationals in Lousville, Ky, I shot on the line next to an older gentleman who was in a wheel chair and only had one arm.  He was destroying the X ring.  It's inspiring to say the least.
