I wish they would use it more on private ground  that way you can get tresspassing/shooting from a road and a rig  Man that thing would make a killing around here. I am surprised to hear that they are doing it in a open area on public land. Just hoping to bust someone shooting from a rig :dunno: Most times from what I know they do t on a road that is not legal to shoot from as well as in a area not legal for people to hunting :dunno: Taking pic's is not a problem. Plus by the legal definition of entrapment. What they are doing is not entrapment.
REF:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrapment

"In many jurisdictions, entrapment is a possible defense against criminal liability. *****However, there is no entrapment where a person is ready and willing to break the law and the government agents merely provide what appears to be a favorable opportunity for the person to commit the crime."

Then... why if I leave my car idling in the driveway. I get the ticket for encouraging someone to steal it... or whatever they call the ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it legal too deer hunt with a barret 50. cal ?, that would  teach them decoys.

Entrapment? Fffft. You either break rules or you don't.

That said, what are we hoping they'll accomplish? If you want to catch bottom fish, you trawl, you don't use a purse sein. Sure you'll catch some bottom fish that way but you'll have by-catch.

I'm not saying that guys that don't get off the road aren't breaking a rule, they are. But creating a bust to get primarily guys who are excited and looking at a legal animal, in legal shooting light, during a legal season, in a legal unit... is this the group of guys we really need to apprehend and fine?  They're fair game for sure, they broke rules, but it seems like a poor use of limited resources.

Put up the robo's; after dark, day before/day after season, across private or GMU boundaries where it would be an illegal kill, put up robo's that would be illegal no matter when they were shot (doe, 2 point, wrong species for season etc).  Guys that are breaking these rules aren't just guys who were tempted but otherwise would never poach, these guys are deliberate poachers and are the big threat to our game.

Nothing wrong with catchin J-walkers. But when there's meth being sold on the same street it's a poor enforcement priority.

A friend of mine found one in the Carson area, driving out one night. He had his hunting partner take his picture with it.

Warden: "OK boys; it's time to move along."
