Archery Late Hunt

My girlfriend doesn't believe me, but all my buddies say "having a baby it changes everything"! I believe them now. They all have babies and getting to hunt early hunt and late hunt is too much for their wives and girlfriends to handle. Now here I am with all my buddies that don't have any more Hall Passes. I think to myself? I still want to kill an elk, but it sure is nice to have people around.

I camped in a great spot in the Winston Unit during early. Hunted in Williams Creek for 3 years before that. I caught them this year moving every day 15 minutes before light and just as it got too dark. Saw a nice bull on the move at 10am bending over jack firs like butter. Too hot though 80+ degrees and sweated my balls off each day trying to move around with them in the jack firs. Jumped one that was gone before i got a good look. Sounded heavy though. Haha! A lot of fun, but no luck during the early hunt. Anyone willing to let me tag along with them this late hunt. I'm 32 yrs old and a good packer. I can trade for a Steelhead drift down the Skykomish if needed!

I'd invite you along as my regular partner is fighting stage 4 cancer at the moment and will be in round 4 of chemo  .  It sounds like you have a westside tag though.  I usually hunt Taneum, well... its really a lot of hiking looking for something to hunt it seems.   

I could stand to tag along with someone who actually knows how to hunt that unit.

i think you all need to grow a pair and tell your ladies to suck it up, hunting comes only a couple times a year or just marry a girl like me she lets me go whenever and no she is not doin the milkman

Gonehuntin....you must not have a kid. Life changes when you have a kid and get married. Brichards, As for late hunting I'm doing archery deer, no elk this year

i do plan to get out for late archery, probably for 2 or 3 days, I do have kids, but i do try to get out. Important things you know. i spent time early season in 672, 501, mostly by myself. i got close within 50 yards of the elk, but no shot..

Married 13 years and have two kids 2 and 4 years....My wife lets me hunt every year without any complaints.  This year alone I have spent 4 weeks away from home hunting.  She knew I hunted before we got married and she knows I will continue to hunt wether I'm married to her or not. 

They either suck it up and deal with it, or they get pissed yearly when hunting season comes around.

Been with my gal since '96, married her in '05. Our kids are 19 and 21 and out of the house. Last year the wife's scumbag half sister got her son,our nephew taken away due to her abuse and drug problems, we stepped up and are adopting him in November, he is 4. Life just got way harder!
 I drew the multi-elk and Montana deer and elk combo this season and today was the first time since we met that she went off about how much hunting I have been doing. 10 minutes later she appologized and said that she hopes I bring one home this weekend. Love your women and support them and hopefully it comes back to ya. Flowers every once in a while won't hurt either. They are usually cheaper than a box of rifle shells too.

 As for the late hunt, this might be my first West side late hunt so if it leads to that I will be sure to keep you in mind.

Married 25 yrs,3 adult children now, been hunting forever.In the early soccer years there were way to many departures for hunting camp with a final word of "If you leave just don't bother coming home" Always came home she always got over it
Things changed over the years and now i pretty much hunt whenever i want/can and she is good with it.either that or she just can't stand me pouting like a little girl

Married 21 years and have 7 kids.  (6 girls and 1 boy). All of them have bows all the way down to my 5 year old boy. Oldest 3  have shot bucks, bulls, and bears with there bows and rifles. I think ...no i know I hunt more now with my kids than I ever did for my self and i love every minute of it. The wife even lets me spend more money at Cabelas cause I'm buying the gear for the kids.

My wife lets me go whenever I want.   My girst daughter was born September 19th we got from the hospital on the 20th then I left at 3am on the 21st and hunted the last day of elk season.

mine just gets pissy with me each year..usually by the time I get back everything is good to go because she missed me...

Great advice everyone. I'm sure I'll be fine. She knows I hunt every year, but the reason I bring it up is because I'm already starting to see she doesn't like me being gone so much.  I hope it goes well when I throw more responsibilities on like a child. Good luck to me when that time comes.
