Concealed Weapons permit Q's
« on: October 27, 2011, 05:38:39 PM »
I just turned 21 and have a Beretta 92FS and I really want to get my Concealed weapons permit. I am a WA resident but go to school in Oregon nine months out of the year. If I get my permit for WA do I have to get another one for Oregon? Can you have permits for two different states at once? I have been asking around and getting conflicting infromation. any help is appreciated.

I don't believe you can carry in oregon with a wa cpl. Let me go look in my book. Yes you can have cpl's for different states.

You definately need CPL's from both Wa and Or.  They don't cover each other.  If you get both, you'll be good in 20 or 30 different states. There is a bill going through congress to make one issued in any state good in any other, just like your drivers license works in any state.

yes you can have one for multiple states. Id check the Oregon rcw's and look to see what is needed to qualify. I also suggest you read through our rcw's. its important to be a responsible carrying citizen, knowing the laws, practicing your marksmanship, and understanding the importance and repercussions of your decisions. Since you live there 9 months out of the year if you are a resident it will make it much simpler

OR is much less carry friendly than WA. Don't carry there without their permit. I believe it's a felony for concealed without.

If you pass Utahheat, you have to go Oregon and find a sheriff to pass your test from what I understand.

Getting the WA concealed license is simple. Just go to your local PD office, apply, get prints, wait up to a month, and pay $55. Its applicable in many states but unfortunately not OR. Looks like you'll have to get two permits
