I completely agree with Gearhead, we used the 140 ballistic tip and accusionaly the 139 SST for years with the 7mm Remington Magnum in open country here in Central WA for mule deer. At 300 yards and beond which most of our shot were they performed excellent. Often found just under the hide on the off side but up close they made a real mess. Some times requiring a second shot to put a animal down.
That was before the Accubond came out once the Accubond arrived we switched to it and never looked back from point blank to 560 yards it has performed flawlessly on Mule deer.
The picture bellow is the entrace wound caused by a 139gr SST out of a 7mm Magnum at 60 yards. It was a small buck and the last one he shot before switching to the Accubonds. We opened him up and literally poured him out. The pic shows the entrance , the off side should was completely turned to jelly. It was a real mess!
