Hunter Reporting- Deer- Question
« on: October 29, 2011, 12:00:34 PM »
When I went to help my 8y/o fill out her hunter reporting for her deer this year, it showed two seperate tags.

Deer Youth
Deer General

I didn't see any language stating that this was a second tag??  I had her submit the Deer Youth tag, what does she do with the Deer General entry?

Thanks.

If she only shot 1 deer this year I would submit you didn't hunt with the other or you hunted and didn't get anything.  If you don't report something you will be charged an extra $10.00 next year.  But your situation sounds funny.  I reported for my youth son and he did get a second tag and it stated second deer tag for that one and it also showed his general tag.  Did your daughter get drawn for a youth permit or a second tag?

I had the same thing happen to me last year. My daughter only got a general season tag.(I never put her into any of the drawings) When I reported the unsuccessful hunt on the WDFW website, it show two tags. I only reported on the general season tag and called WDFW. They said that it was an error and not to worry about it. I got dinged for the $10.00 this year for failure to report. I called again and got the run around to no avail. I just ate the $10.00 because it is not worth it to me to spend hours on the phone talking to 8 different people who don't know anything or are too afraid to make a rational decision. My advice, report it. :twocents:

Youth permit, not the second deer catagorie.  Strange, you would think it would stay with just 1 report to submit?

yeah if she was drawn for a youth permit is should only show one tag to report for.  Once she was drawn her general tag became her youth tag.  I would just report the general as not hunting so you don't have to pay the $10 next year.
