The perils of hunting high country blacktails

Good job getting that rascal, and getting him out of there.  I well remember shooting a good size mulie that tumbled, and fell, and tumbled, and fell... It turned into quite an ordeal getting him to the trailhead. Ugh. Worth it though, every bit of it.

Way to go Nails... I wish I would not have past up a couple little bucks early on because I have hunted my butt off and not many being killed in Skagit right now ....Have one more sweet spot left and if it does not produce I am out of options  Persistance is not paying off this year !! But I have killed 4 halloween bucks so I am not given up yet ....

I figured I might have some blood-shot but it was actually fine. We've got 4 deer now with 2 Idaho tags to fill so I just ground the whole thing into hamburger.

Sounds like it would've been nice and tender after a fall like that.   Great story and thanks for sharing.
