Acorns for bait
« on: October 30, 2011, 09:45:09 AM »
Anyone use acorns for late season whiteys? I found the motherload and picked about 15 pounds. Planning on putting out my usual alfalfa and supplementing it with the acorns.  Wondering if I should try to get out and pick some more or just see how they like the ones I've already picked.

I know the blacktails go nuts (no pun intended) over the acorns in my yard.  I have a couple dozen old oak trees on my property and the deer vacuum the acorns up like candy.  I would imagine that whities would do the same.

Don't know about the WT's out here, but back in MI the deer will choose acorns over anything else.  I'm sure it would be the same here.
