Hunting near Enumclaw?
« on: October 29, 2011, 02:13:20 PM »
Im new to hunting on the west side, and I was wondering if there is any land to hunt legally near Enumclaw/chinook pass road.  Can someone PM me the location a spot in the area if there is one?  Im not looking to steal your spot, just looking for a legal area to find my own.  Looking to hunt deer and possibly coyote there.  Any help is appreciated.

There's a lot of area out that way, FS 70, 75 are some popular places.  I have been hunting hard sun up to sun down all week and have seen everything EXCEPT a buck.

Thanks for the info guys.  Didn't/won't get to hunt regular season this year, so ill scout that area and maybe give it a go during the late season.  Also, do u know anyhting about the area south of I-90 and east of HWY 18? I heard I could hunt this area, but I don't know anything about it really...

That is Taylor mtn.  Walk in, have heard some good about it but don't know much about it.  Have actually been considering trying that area out myself.

To clarify FR70, some of it and it's offshoots are in unit 653, some in 466.  Not a big difference if you're looking for deer, bear or cougar.  If you're after Elk though, it will matter.  If I remember correctly, 653 is off limits for elk this year, at least for modern rifle.  You'll have to go up far on the 70 system before you cross into 466.  It also borders 485 and watershed boundries which is also off limits for the masses.  Know before you go!
