Which trail cameras offer the longest battery life?

I have a relatively cheap nikon game camera that I have used a few times. I believe the 4 d cell batteries usually last about 2 weeks. What do you have and what are your experiences?

I will keep this camera however if I buy another one (which is not currently on my to do list) I would like one that takes cheaper batteries and or longer battery life.

Moultrie hands down but has 6 d cell batteries. Some of the Stealth have an external 12 or 6 volt battery and they last quite a while.

I know TMike said his were out there 4 weeks and still had half the power left. I have left my Stealth out there a couple months and it was still working but the one I have doesn't have a battery level indicator.

Both my I60 and D40 Moultries take 6 D cells. I'm still on the originals since December in my I60 and it says I have 35% left. That's running it continuous for the whole time minus a month or so. I don't know about the D40. We'll see, maybe I got lucky.

I have a Moultrie 4.0 and I had it out for two weeks and when I checked it there was still 80% battery life left on it. It's been out for another two weeks. I will check it on Saturday to see how much is left.

Over 3 weeks with the Moultrie rechargeable 6v.  Still said over 50% battery left.

I've got the brand new Moultrie 5.0 Outfitter cam w/infrared flash and it last's 3-4 weeks easy. and i just got a solar panal for it last week and plugged it in and that runs it.  it hasn't even touched my batteries yet.  just have to give it a good charging by the sun before hook up.  love'n it.

I've got a year old Stealth Cam that runs on six C batteries...I'm getting about 4 days and 50 pics worth before they die.  Needless to say, I'm about to buy a Moultrie...have seen nothing but good things about the Moultrie battery life.

Question for those with Moultries...do you notice a difference in the battery life between the IR and traditional flash?  The IR is roughly twice as much ($200 vs. $100), and the deer I'm filming don't seem to care about the flash.  But I'd go with the IR if it meant my batteries would last longer.  I only get to check it about every two weeks, and I'm sick of only getting 4 days of pics and constantly buying batteries.

Haven't used the IR yet.  Just the traditional flash.  Can't help ya there

I have 2 of the Moultrie I40's  using d batt. my cameras have been out 5 weeks now and taken 600 pics and are still at 89% battery life, at this rate the camera will last all summer on the same batteries, cant complain

I have 1 moultrie M40 and 2 stealth I230's M40 takes D's and the I230's take C's both last a month I have 1GB cards in them also. Got them online for $100 each

The battery life will vary depending on how many night pictures it takes.  I just replaced the batteries in my Moultrie D40 after almost 2 months and 500 pictures.  I'm satisfied with it's performance, the book says 60 days and I missed by only a couple days.

I think there might be something wrong with you stealth cam, because I have a year old stealth cam and it runs on six 'C' Batteries and it will last a month or two on the same batteries and take a lot of pictures.

My cuddebacks get 2+ months, and a couple hundred pictures or better.
