I was just wonderinging if anybody has put any kind of arch support or foot pad in their wader boots? We have a few spots that we have to hike a ways in to and the bottom of my feet get sore because there is nothing really in the bottom of the boots. I am thinking about trying some Dr. Scholl's inserts to try and get some relief so that the pads of my feet to hurt every time.

I have used felt liners. They also help keep you feet warm

I am using some of the Dr. Scholl's gel inserts on top of an old pair of Superfeet insoles with the arch support removed in my Reddingtons, they are rock hard inside otherwise. Talk about a difference! It's like putting on a pair of hightop shoes in stead of strapping 2x4's to the bottoms of my feet. The only downside is that it cuts down on how much room I have for extra pairs of socks.

I just bought some inserts for my boots and will be trying them out this weekend. I hope that afterwards the bottom of my feet don't feel raw like they normally do.

It's duck hunting.  When I was younger it was rubber chest waders if you were lucky.  Most of the time it was football cleats and blue jeans or army surplus gear.  Toughen up a little and you won't need those sissy pads in your boots.  It's duck hunting.     Just joking.  I'm sure your feet are sensitive.  A few sets of pantie liners should fix it.

I wear a pair of cotton socks, and a pair of wool socks over that.  My feet never bother me

LMAO! I'm pretty sure he got started on the pantie liners for ear protection, only after years of stares figuring out that you were supposed to take them out of the box and not still stuck to the panties!

    Who derailed this subject?    Why don't you throw the hiking boats on with some gators and carry the waders in with the decoys?  That way they aren't soaked on the inside by the time you get to your spot and you don't have foot issues?

  I will have to defer to your experience on this one, how many liners are required to properly pad the bottoms of my feet in my waders? Sans panties btw, some places I fish don't allow scent to be used.

I would but we have to hike through multiple ponds that are up to waist deep so we would either be changing multiple times or just wearing the waders the whole way...

  :chuckle:Ya'll are cracking me up.  I too notice that my feet hurt like hell after walking a ways in my waders.  Never thought about the insoles but might be a good idea.  Only issue I see is that the boots don't fit like regular shoes so fitting the insoles might be a pain and they might move around.  Hell try it and let us know.

The Dr Scholl's gel insoles have kind of a tacky finish so they stay in place real well inside your wading boots, just buy them big and cut them to fit.

I've put my SuperFeet insoles inside my waders and they work great! Long hikes in waders does suck....specially if you usually wear insoles...good luck!

The only time my feet hurt in my waders was after a long walk in a muddy field. Something about the twisting and pulling with every step My feet ended up being very red that day
