Do you think with the forecasted weather some birds will be pushed down our way?

fairbanks has been freezing for 2 weeks now in the teens and lower. they packed up, crusing at 3000 ft. depends on how many diners they want to eat at.

I hope we get some soon, we've killed just about all of the greenheads.... It seems like all we can find is brown these days. :bash:

I think we are too early still for much of a migration. Give it another month or so then it is game on!  :mgun:

Around Thanksgiving everything heats up because the word is out.  However in the Basin...Potholes Reservoir, etc., usually you can set your clock for early migrating birds, plus or minus Veterans Day, the 11th of November.  Good time to be out as most are not yet, as they are waiting on the news.  For what it's worth. :twocents:

Had a good shoot today and pretty sure we are starting to get a few new migrants in.  MAinly Pins and Wigeon.  Shot two Drake Pins today that were HUGE.  Full color minus the pins of course.  Also shot a full color Wigeon.  Really nice for this time of year.

It seems to me that the first major push of "northern" birds happens a week or ten days later than 30 years ago - moving from the first week of November to near mid-month.

That said saw the first swans of the year Sunday as they checked out the snow geese decoys.  Also saw the the first buffleheads of the year yesterday ; two pairs of with fully colored drakes.  Both would indciate that the so-called migration is more or less on time; at least as compared to recent years.

I never check their immigration status; better to leave that to Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano.  They are keeping our borders safe.  :P
