Congratulations on a dandy bull.
Is there a reason you leave the lower legs and hooves on the quarters?

John: Not really, it's just easier to leave them on and throw up on a horse. Buglebuster: This is the highlight of the trip, the downfall was seeing wolf tracks down every game trail on a fresh snow. We've moved the past 3 years trying to stay ahead of them but there isn't much of Idaho that isn't completely loaded with wolves. In a week of hunting, this is the only elk we saw and really the only fresh sign.

Nice job!  I like seeing people in the woods with their horses!

If I never saw another elk the rest of my life I'd still go live with my horses for a week every fall in the mtns, amazing how much they learn and respect you after spending days in a row with them.
:yeah:

Horses a ton of work but so worth it. Our horses were the real stars studs of our trip.  Hauled a couple bulls out and got us places we would have been able to get time over the two weeks.  Congrats on that bull he is bruiser.
