Lake on Pennisula
« on: November 02, 2011, 06:51:51 PM »
Intentionally keeping the name off the forum....I got my first, VERY icky taste of "packed public spot" hunting last weekend while visiting my favorite northern slaying hole that never had more than 2 groups last year. I'm hoping to get some input from the knowledgeable hunters out there. I know it's about scouting, but working nights and only having one day a week to hunt, it's tough to drive the two hours. There is a lake I have hunted late season once and it was a decent hole. Does anyone have any input on hunting fresh water spots this early in the season? I have only been hunting 3 years and I am still trying to sponge up all the information I can find. Like I said, I know it's called "hunting" for a reason, but does anyone have a knowledgeable opinion on hunting lakes on the westside?

From what ive gathered hunting lakes on the westside is really hit or miss. Best ive ever done on westside lake where im from is when everything else freezes up. Flooded fields are by far the best to hunt if you have access.

If you like lakes, try Lake Terrel, Tennant Lake or Beaver Lake up north.  Go to the WDFW site and find all their water access sites.  Some are huntable some are not.  Just depends on the municipality / county shooting laws.
